Expert Meeting

International Pathway • Level 2

What is the Expert Meeting?

The Expert Meeting is the Level 2 course with an exclusive group of 40 coaches from all around the world. During this 5-day event the knowledge about Football Tactics, Football Braining and Football Periodisation gained in the Level 1 courses will be applied in practice. This will take place at one of the top clubs in international football.

The inaugural Expert Meeting took place in 2012 in Amsterdam followed by editions at Chelsea F.C. in London (2013), in Bloemfontein, South Africa (2014), at FC Barcelona (2015), at Feyenoord Rotterdam (2016), at Benfica Lisbon (2017), at Club Bruges (2018) and at Hajduk Split in Croatia (2019). In 2020, the Expert Meeting will take place at Atletico Madrid in Spain.

What will you learn?

During the Football Tactics Evolution and the Football Periodisation Mentorship (both level 1 courses) the delegates have learned how to develop methodologies within passing exercises, position games, football fitness games and tactical games. During the Expert Meeting these theoretical references will be applied in practice. The 2019 theme will be ‘football action analysis’ and the subsequent ‘individual training within the team training’.

The second course theme is Football Braining. Raymond Verheijen will share the latest developments of the Football Coach Evolution Model which is educated in more detail during the Football Braining Experience (level 1).

Besides the plenary presentations by Raymond Verheijen other football experts will be invited to present on the latest developments in all football-related areas of expertise.

For the level 1 courses it is possible for coaches to register. However, for the Expert Meeting (level 2) coaches have to apply. After the application deadline has passed, the final 40 delegates will be selected and announced. The main criteria to be accepted is the delegate’s level 1 and level 2 course experience.

What will be your next step?

Coaches who have fulfilled the Expert Meeting (level 2) are eligible to apply for the next level course: ProCourse (level 3).
