Coaches often struggle to design training situations that truly reflect the reality of an 11v11 match as they do not have 22 players available. This forces them to simplify the game into formats such as 10v10, 9v9 or 8v8 which often leads to players interacting with unrealistic spaces and distances. How often have you watched a training session and felt that your players’ behaviour did not match your expectations for match play?
Many coaches have to work with half a pitch or even less. This smaller space could make attacking actions unrealistically difficult, while defending becomes underloaded. How often have you observed a half-pitch session that looked more like a game of pinball than football?
Finally, coaches often face difficulties when designing small-sided games, such as 4v4 or 7v6 situations, as they do not know how to keep the additional players actively involved.
In this 1-day course Raymond Verheijen will present solutions for all the above practical problems to help coaches solve problems in their realistic daily environment.
